안녕하세요. 어바인 드림교회를 섬기고 있는 원홍연 목사입니다.  어바인 드림교회는 2014년도부터 Arizona에 있는 인디언 보호 구역인 Hopi 지역에서 Hopi 인디언들을 섬기고 있는 최기연 선교사님을 돕고 있습니다.  최기연 선교사님은 현재 Hotevilla Gospel Church를 섬기고 계십니다.  선교사님은 마약, 알코올 중독에 고통 받는 호피 부족 마을 사람들을 돕고 있습니다.  교인 중 한 할머니는 자신의 손자 손녀 6명을 작년에 입양해서 키우고 있습니다.  자녀들이 알코올과 마약 중독으로 아이들을 키울 수 없는 상황에 까지 이르렀기 때문입니다.  전기도, 물도 나오지 않는 이 곳에서 교회는 희망이자 유일한 안식처입니다.  최기연 선교사님은 희망과 소망이 없는 아이들에게 새로운 세상을 알려주고, 꿈과 희망을 주는 일도 하고 계십니다.  방과 후 프로그램을 통해서 만들기, 읽기, 작문, 그리고 컴퓨터에 이르기까지 다양한 프로그램을 제공하고 이씁니다.  그런데, 지난 3월 18일 교회 예배당에 옆에 있는 교육관 겸 친교실에서 화재가 발생했습니다.  그로 인해, 친교실 전체가 전소되었습니다.  이곳은 아이들이 평소에 방과 후 활동을 하는 곳입니다.  매년 수많은 선교팀들이 방문을 하면, 이 곳에서 숙식을 해결하는 곳이기도 합니다.  다행이도 다친 사람은 없습니다. 

어바인 드림교회는 화재로 인해 교육관과 친교실을 잃은 Hotevilla Gospel Church를 돕고자 합니다.  여러분들의 아름다운 물질적인 헌신과 기도가 호피 지역에 꿈과 희망을 선물할 줄 믿습니다.  모금된 전액은 새로운 친교실 건축과 호피 마을 선교를 위해서 쓰여집니다.  여러분들의 작은 사랑이 호피 마을에서 고통 받고 있는 가족들과 아이들에게 새로운 희망을 위해 걸어 나갈 수 있는 큰 힘이 될 것입니다.

Dear Friend:
My name is Brandon. I am currently serving University United Methodist Church as an associate pastor and lead pastor for a Korean congregation.  Since 2014, our Korean congregation has supported children who reside at the Hopi Native-American Indian reservation.  Rev. Ki Youn Choi is senior pastor of the Hotevilla Gospel Church and missionary.  He has served as a missionary since 2010.  His mission is to evangelize Hopi Native-American Indians, provide after school program for children, fix and repair their houses, and help them to recover from addictions.  He loves to support people who need and care.  Addiction problems in town is critical condition.  One of his church members who is a grandmother, adopted her 6 grandchildren because their parents can’t afford to raise their own children.  Rev. Ki Youn Choi always works hard for not only physical needs from church members but also support spiritually them.  He leads the strong after school program for children in town.  They have arts and crafts, reading, writing, playing games, and teaching a computer class in their fellowship hall.  It is one of his successful projects  However, there was fire caused by was a heater last March 18 2018.  Fellowship hall and education building were totally burned down.  This building was used as the mission teams’ accommodation as well every summer.  They lost their hope and dream.  For that reason, our church and all of our friends want to support this hopeless situation.  Your donation will directly give for rebuilding fellowship hall.  Hotevilla Gospel Church needs not only your financial support but also prayers.  Please, donate and be part of the rebuilding project.  Thank you.
